Dr. Shantel Pakeman is a committed and experienced primary care physician with over ten years of service in Belize’s healthcare system. Her diverse clinical background spans tertiary care at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital Authority, palliative care with the Belize Palliative Care Hospice Association Ltd., and extensive primary care through multiple National Health Insurance (NHI) clinics.
She previously served as Clinical Director at the Belize Family Life Association (BFLA), where she not only led multidisciplinary teams but also managed daily operations and delivered comprehensive primary healthcare. Dr. Pakeman is widely recognized for her expertise in sexual and reproductive health, preventive medicine, and her ongoing contributions to national public health programs.
In her current role as Chief Executive Officer of Ladyville Medical Solutions Ltd./NHI Clinic, Dr. Pakeman provides strategic leadership with a focus on expanding access to high-quality, patient-centered care. Her approach to medicine is grounded in holistic, compassionate care and a dedication to service excellence.
Dr. Pakeman also serves on the Belize Medical Council, represents the Belize Medical and Dental Association (BMDA) on the National AIDS Commission (NAC), and is a member of the International Association for Adolescent Health (IAAH). Through these national and international roles, she continues to champion public health initiatives, with a strong emphasis on the health and well-being of adolescents and underserved communities throughout Belize.
